Summary
The One&Only name is well justified — there’s nothing like this hotel on Paradise Island or anywhere else in the Bahamas, for that matter. The 106 rooms and suites are divided into two sections and are very luxurious, although those in the Crescent Wing were built less time ago and are a bit more modern and stylish. At Atlantis, guests have access to amenities and the advantage of being away from the crowds. The vast, manicured grounds have two outdoor pools, a romantic Versailles-inspired garden and statuary (ideal for weddings), and an endless expanse of white sands and turquoise waves. Health and wellness fans have plenty to choose from, including daily yoga classes, an 18-hole golf course, tennis courts, a fitness center with indoor and outdoor settings, and a Balinese-style spa. with private villas. After a day in the sun, guests return to their room to find champagne and strawberries waiting for them; many choose to start the evening with sunset drinks at Jean-George’s Dune restaurant.

Cons

A pricey 30-minute boat ride from Providenciales
Some travelers may find seclusion a bit boring or suffocating
Expansive property means plenty of walking or golf cart rides
Focus on wellness is not for everyone

Summary
The 75-room COMO Parrot Cay is arguably the most luxurious resort in Turks and Caicos; a five-pearl private island resort focused on health and wellness. The sprawling 1,000-acre property is a 30-minute boat ride from Providenciales, offering guests unparalleled privacy in a tranquil setting. The standout feature is the COMO Shambhala Spa, a world-renowned wellness center with a yoga pavilion, a Pilates studio, numerous treatment rooms, and an in-house Ayurvedic doctor. The holistic theme continues in restaurants, where chefs happily cater to individual dietary restrictions. Rooms have simple Balinese styling and high-end amenities, while the resort’s numerous private villas have luxury features like outdoor showers and private plunge pools — but these rooms are far from common areas. Travelers looking for luxury in Providenciales might prefer Gansevoort Turks and Caicos, which has a more elegant style and atmosphere.

Country House Resort & Villas

Advantage

pristine white sand beaches

Restaurants are expensive
The all-inclusive plan only offers the six restaurants owned by the resort; additional fees may apply for some menu options.
10-minute golf cart ride to the beach (all rooms come with a golf cart)
Summary

The classiest and most famous resort in all of the D.R. since 1974, the Casa de Campo hotel is part of a massive 7,000-acre resort community. It includes three world-renowned golf courses, a pristine beach, a marina, the picturesque “village” of Altos de Chavon, and numerous other activities. It may take some time to get from one place to another, but each spacious room includes a golf cart for guest use. Although the Eden Roc offers more luxurious rooms, the Casa de Campo certainly provides more activities, and some prefer its elegant but more relaxed atmosphere.

Some of the highest prices in the DR and no all-inclusive fees
No taste of the real Dominican Republic
No private pools or pool access

Summary
In Punta Cana, competing with the five-pearl Hotel Tortuga Bay for luxury, VIP treatment, and boutique intimacy is almost impossible. The property, designed by Oscar de la Renta (a local legend born in nearby Santo Domingo), offers some of the most elegant accommodations on the island. All services, including Bamboo Restaurant, white sand beach, free airport transfers, expedited immigration service, and Six Senses Spa, are world-class. The 30 spacious and sophisticated suites are luxuriously equipped with whirlpool tubs, beautiful bathrooms, private butler service, and ocean view balconies/terraces. Cruiser bikes and golf carts come with each suite. If guests balk at anything here, the price and lack of nightly entertainment are likely are likely are likely. Though it lacks the same sophistication, The Westin Puntacana Resort & Club offers a similar location and amenities on an adjacent beach for lower rates.

Treehouse spa is one of the best on the island

Cons
Stray cats can be a nuisance on the beach
The rough roads in Santa Lucia are not for the faint of heart
Night light sounds can be disturbed at night (others may love it!)

Summary
This luxurious Viceroy is genuinely amazing. Arguably the best location in St. Lucia, right between the Pitons, St. Lucia’s famous volcanic spires, and on a beautiful white sand beach. Its 79 rooms are minimalist, chic, and primarily white, with private pools, butlers, and 24-hour room service; larger villas and cabins offer huge living rooms and bathrooms (some with outdoor showers and Jacuzzi tubs). Features include a family pool, fitness center, tennis courts, and free water sports. The romantic Tree-House spa is one of the best on the island. The resort’s restaurants and bars are pricey, but all-inclusive rates help guests keep costs in check. Only the adults-only Jade Mountain compares in St. Lucia, but it lacks the on-site beach found here, and its spa isn’t nearly as lovely.

Eden Roc at Cap Cana

Advantage
Upscale beachfront property with a quiet, secluded vibe
Air-conditioning with smart iPads, marble bathrooms, and outdoor rainfall showers
Many rooms have ocean views and/or private pools.
All villas include free golf cart rentals (but they’re five minutes from the beach)
Three restaurants serve seafood and international cuisine: two have ocean views.
Complimentary breakfast included with all stays.
The lovely private beach rarely crowded with plenty of loungers
Two infinity pools, including one with a walk-up pool bar
Pleasant spa and fitness room with modern cardio and resistance equipment
Two kids’ clubs with playgrounds and free (limited) childcare
Access to Cap Cana’s Jack Nicklaus-designed golf course and a marina
Free airport transfers, Wi-Fi, and welcome cocktails

Not an all-inclusive, meals and drinks add up quickly
Nothing within walking distance – a car or taxi to explore
Villas are a five-minute golf drive from the beach
Pool bar open only during high season or high hotel occupancy

Summary
Eden Roc at Cap Cana is a luxury hotel with an oceanfront beach club in Punta Cana’s posh Cap Cana enclave. Its 60 air-conditioned units are a mix of oceanfront units with sophisticated European interiors and contemporary villas. More classic with king beds, flat-screen TVs, smart home systems, private plunge pools, and oversized marble bathrooms. The resort has three tasty restaurants and multiple bars, but only breakfast is included in the rates. Hotel amenities include a gorgeous private beach, two infinity pools, two fitness centers, a spa, two kids’ clubs, and a romantic natural cenote. Welcome cocktails and airport transfers are free. As an alternative, the Tortuga Bay Punta Cana Resort and Club is an oceanfront boutique hotel that adds Oscar de la Renta-designed interiors and water sports (the latter surprisingly lacking at Eden Roc).

Jade Mountain Resort

Advantage
Extraordinary architecture and design
Eco Suites have open brand design and stunning views
Most rooms have private Enclosure infinity pools
All units have four-poster beds and chromotherapy whirlpool tubs
Excellent service and dedicated butlers (cell phones provided)
impressive food and wine; meal plans available
A sky deck for cocktails and stargazing
Spa treatments, bike rentals, and free daily yoga
Beaches, snorkeling, kayaks, paddleboards, and a dive center within a short bus ride (or walk)
A helicopter pad and resort shuttle
Free WIFI

Cons
Not all rooms have infinity pools; the shared pool is at the restaurant.
The spa isn’t that big (in-room treatments are better)
Toilets in rooms offer no privacy
There are no televisions, air conditioning, or radios (a pro for some!)
Getting to the nearest beach requires a steep climb
Birds and insects in gardens can be a nuisance
Long, bumpy drive to get there

Summary
Jade Mountain is one of the most romantic resorts in the Caribbean and the world, thanks to its incredible Piton views and extraordinary design. The 29 huge suites, called “sanctuaries,” are by far the highlight; Through the innovative, open fourth wall, everyone has a view of an ocean from the entire room — from the four-poster bed, elevated whirlpool tub, and (in all but the entry-level category) private pool. Organic cuisine is served from a chic open-air restaurant, and guests can expect unwavering peace and quiet throughout (no TVs or kids). Although there’s no beach, guests can take a short bus ride or walk to use the two beaches, free water sports, and dive center at sister property Anse Chastanet. All in all, Jade Mountain is well worth the price and the bumpy ride to get there. Families — or couples looking for easier beach access — should consider Sugar Beach, a Viceroy Resort.

The Reserve at Paradisus Palma Real

Advantage
A large aquatic complex with children’s areas, slides, and an inflatable pool
A spectacular spa with gym and yoga classes

Rooms with classic decor, good-quality toiletries, and minibars
Lots of activities available, such as marine excursions and nightly entertainment
Careful spaces and quiet environments

Free Wi-Fi all over the place

Cons
It is not directly on the beach (there is a regular shuttle service)
More space means long distances to go from one place to another
Suite amenities vary. Make sure to specify the type of room when making the reservation
The best restaurants tend to fill up quickly, and making reservations is difficult
Drink service and Wi-Fi can be slow

Summary
With fewer than 200 suites, this family-friendly section of the all-inclusive Paradisus Palma Real offers a serene and luxurious atmosphere. The property offers sprawling grounds, winding pathways, and high-end amenities such as a world-class spa, yoga, and a seemingly endless pool area. Couples will find that the well-behaved children here are hardly ever a bother. Guests have free access to services, facilities, and restaurants adjacent to the Palma Real, especially the beach area, which this property lacks. Parents will likely appreciate the area’s kid-friendly services and childcare, while everyone can enjoy daily excursions, quality restaurants and bars, and a personal concierge service.

Four Seasons Resort Nevis, West Indies

Advantage
On a beautiful beach with calm waters
Excellent rooms feature large bathrooms, separate showers and tubs, and large flat-screen TVs
For the family, with a kids’ club, playground, and small game room
The three on-site restaurants, as well as 24-hour room service, offer tasty appetizers and entrees.
Tons of on-site amenities: 3 pools, ten tennis courts, a basketball court, and a huge gym
Lush gardens and an 18-hole golf course with great views
Free and fast Wi-Fi

Cons
The spa is nice but relatively small for a resort this size.

Summary
This Four Season hotel is located on a large and attractive beach on the small island of Nevis. The magnificent rooms can be something to write about; modern decor has a Ralph Lauren look, with a blue and yellow color scheme accented by pops of color and dark wood furnishings; the large bathrooms have separate showers and bathtubs. In addition, almost every room has beautiful views, either of the mountains or the ocean. The hotel’s remote location makes it a popular choice for couples on a romantic getaway. But with the long list of on-site facilities, this resort is also well-suited for families. There are three pools, multiple tennis courts, a golf course, and a kids’ club. The spa is a bit small by Four Seasons standards, but this hotel is top-notch and well worth the time it takes to get there.

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Anguilla

Advantage
On one of the most beautiful white sand beaches on the island
Kelly Wearstler-designed rooms with modern amenities
Marble bathrooms with separate showers and deep soaking tubs
Programs for children and adolescents (a rarity in Anguilla)
top-notch spa
A modern fitness center with yoga and pilates classes
Ocean views abound from the infinity pool, rooms, and sunset room
Room service 24 hours
Free WIFI

Cons
Time is required to move from one side of the sprawling property to the other.

Summary
The Viceroy Anguilla, which opened in 2009, is the most modern property on this small island and possibly the most luxurious. The Kelly Wearstler-designed resort blends an elegant look with a laid-back beach vibe. It features sleek lines, modern amenities, numerous art installations, earthy tones, animal prints, wood, stone, and gold accents. This look continues through the 166 rooms, which feature romantic balconies and marble bathrooms with separate showers and tubs. Although the Viceroy certainly draws couples, the resort has a kids’ club and a teens’ club, and families can be seen splashing around in the pools and heading to the tennis courts.

Baoase Luxury Resort

Advantage
Stylish luxury boutique hotel with Indonesian-inspired decor on a serene beach
Large, private man-made beach connected to a small island
Beautiful pool surrounded by tropical greenery, with swim-up rooms
Gorgeous luxury suites and villas, many with open-air tubs or walk-in showers
Some villas have a private pool
Elegant waterfront gourmet restaurant
Free WIFI

Cons
Not within walking distance of a town or other bars or restaurants
Quiet at night; no nightlife nearby (pro for some)
tiny gym

Summary
This 23-room luxury boutique hotel is a Balinese-inspired haven on Curacao, where the details make all the difference — hand-carved teak pieces, gift bags left on the beds, and candles lit around the table. Property is just a few examples. The highlights of the resort are the elegant rooms and villas, some with private pools, the excellent gourmet restaurant, and a lovely (albeit man-made) stretch of quiet beach. This is the top luxury resort in Curacao, no contest. However, those looking for a more upscale property with an all-inclusive option might prefer the Santa Barbara Beach & Golf Resort.

Eden Rock–St Barths

Advantage
It is located on St. Barth’s Nikki Beach, close to shopping, dining, and the airport.
Two restaurants, including On the Rocks, headed by celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten
Uniquely designed rooms, some built into the rocky landscape, with stunning views of the ocean
The beach is long and wide
Small gym with up-to-date equipment
Beach bar and beachfront massage table, plus in-room spa services
Complimentary and extensive buffet breakfast
Free and functional Wi-Fi
Nice and quiet environment
On-site clothing boutique

Cons
The parking area is overcrowded
restaurants are expensive
The water at the beach can get a bit cloudy

Summary
Eden Rock – St Barths was affected by Hurricane Irma in September 2017 and is currently due to reopen in late 2018. We will update our review as soon as we have more information. Five-pearl Eden Rock is one of the most popular resorts in St. Barth’s, and with good reason: It has two world-class restaurants and playfully unique rooms with luxurious amenities. It also has a lively mid-island location that draws stylish travelers from all over the world. All the world. Prices are nothing to sneeze at, but the hotel’s attention to detail (like personalized welcome notes) is what helps maintain its reputation as one of the best resorts in the Caribbean. Those on a tighter budget might want to compare nearby Le Toiny, an equally luxurious stay at slightly more affordable prices.

Spice Island Beach Resort

Advantage
Located on the golden sands of Grand Anse’s most popular beach
Large pool area with plenty of lounge chairs
Deluxe rooms and suites with sleek, contemporary decor
Some suites have large private pools
Excellent updated spa
Nice fitness center; tennis and water sports
Ideal for families, including an activity center for children
An all-inclusive plan includes meals, a stocked minibar, and premium drinks
Free WIFI

Cons
In a busy beach area with a lot of foot traffic
It is not an isolated place; various other hotels and neighboring properties.
Oceanfront rooms and patios are close together.

Summary
This luxurious all-inclusive resort is one of the island’s most elegant and well-regarded hotels, with 64 elegant suites dotting a quarter-mile of the beach. Spice Island is an oasis of serenity amid the bustling Grand Anse beach area, with clean lines and a polished, elegant ambiance while maintaining a laid-back Caribbean charm. The resort includes two restaurants, a beautiful spa, and various activities, but peace and relaxation are also easy to find. The pool area is quiet and private; however, the beach — while beautiful and clean — is shared by locals and guests from nearby resorts. Still, in Grenada, only Sandals LaSource can compare.

Golden Eye

Advantage
The historic property where Ian Fleming wrote James Bond.
An extensive land of 21 hectares with a private beach and lagoon.
A modern bar and restaurant on the beach.
Spacious villas and cabins, all with beach or lagoon views
A beautiful design put together by a local Jamaican architect
Impressive tree house spa overlooking the lagoon
Lots of on-site activities and water sports
Two beautiful pools facing the sea

Cons
Among the highest rates in Jamaica and are not all-inclusive.
There is no gym on-site.
There is nothing within walking distance, and it is a long drive to the attractions of Ocho Rios.
Long and expensive drive to Montego Bay International Airport.

Summary
The 21-room GoldenEye is undoubted the most modern and luxurious resort in Jamaica. It is also one of the most historic on the island, the former home of Ian Fleming and the hideout where the author wrote all 14 James Bond novels. Today, the property, which reopened in 2010 after an extensive $50 million renovation, includes impressive homes and villas overlooking a private beach and lagoon, as well as two busy restaurants, two swimming pools, a spa on the tree house, and an extensive list of on-site activities. The fees can be scary, but those who can afford them will find little to complain about.
